Temple Square : The temple is considered a most holy place in the Mormon religion. As such a lot of attention and resources were contributed to its design, construction and interior furnishings. However, due to its sacred nature, it is closed to the public. Admission is allowed only for faithful church members (the general public can visit other stuctures). Today it is used for performing weddings, baptisms for the dead and other important family blessings. Attracting close to 5 million people annually, Temple Square is Salt Lake city's biggest attraction and one of the major tour sites of the West.
